Privacy

Scissors & Scrubs is a small shop in Niles, Michigan. This page says what I collect when you order, join the mailing list or send a message, what I use it for, and who else sees it. Short version: I use it to make and ship your order and to answer you. I don’t sell it.

What I collect

• When you order: your name, email address, phone number (if you give one), shipping address, and what you ordered — including any words you ask to have engraved.
• When you pay by card: Stripe collects your card details on its own page. I never see or store your card number — only that a payment was made, and how much.
• When you pay by Venmo, Cash App or PayPal: those companies handle the payment. I see the payment in my own account, with the order code you put in the note.
• When you join the mailing list: your email address.
• When you send a message: your name, email address and what you wrote.
• On this site: simple, anonymous visit counts (which pages are looked at), with no advertising profile and no tracking cookies. Your cart and the address you type are kept in your own browser so a refresh doesn’t lose them; they aren’t sent anywhere until you place an order.

What I use it for

• Making your order, taking payment and shipping it.
• Emailing you a receipt, a payment confirmation and a tracking number, and answering your questions.
• If you joined the mailing list: sending occasional news about new designs. Every email has a way to stop them, or just reply and ask.
• Keeping the records a small business has to keep, such as for taxes.

Who else sees it

Only the services needed to run the shop, and only what each needs:

• Stripe — card payments.
• Netlify — hosts this website and stores order records.
• Resend — sends the order emails.
• USPS and the postage service used to print labels — your name and address, so the package can be delivered.
• Venmo, Cash App, PayPal — if you choose to pay with them.

I don’t sell or rent your information, and I don’t share it for advertising.

How long I keep it

Order records are kept as long as I need them to look after your order and to meet tax and bookkeeping requirements. Mailing-list addresses are kept until you ask me to remove them.

Your choices

You can ask to see what I have about you, to correct it, or to have it removed (where I’m not required to keep it) by sending me a message. To leave the mailing list, reply to any of its emails, or message me.

Children

This shop is meant for adults and isn’t directed at children under 13.
