About the globe

Every year the box comes down from the attic and the same argument starts: who gets to hang which ornament. This is the one they'll all reach for.

Each snow globe is cut from basswood, then layered and painted by hand. The snowman sits in the middle in his knit hat and scarf, twig arms out like he's been waiting for you. Around him, a snowflake for each person in your family, engraved with their name. Pets get their own paw print.

The globe itself is clear acrylic, so the lights of the tree come right through behind the snowman, and the glittered rim catches every one of them. Hang it near the front and it sparkles.

Made one at a time in Niles, Michigan. No two are exactly alike, and that's kind of the point.

Care. Wipe gently with a dry cloth. Keep it out of direct water and away from heat. Wrap it in tissue when you pack it away and it'll be here for a lot of Decembers.
